This article will help you set up and start tracking podcast advertisements in LeadsRx. Whether you are wanting to track dynamically inserted podcast ads or to track whether a podcast was downloaded, we have support for both.
One important question you should answer before you start is what platform does your podcast run on? Tracking codes for the supported platforms we've worked with are in the product. If you don’t see the platform you work with listed, please reach out to LeadsRx and we can research how to work with the new platform.
The first step tracking podcast adverting in LeadsRx is to first create a Podcast touchpoint. To do this, you
- Hover over the gear icon at the top of any page.
- Select Settings->Touchpoints
- Click Track a New Touchpoint
- Select Podcast
- Give the Podcast Touchpoint a name and input custom dimensions you’d like to track. You may track up to 5 dimensions. You may edit these in another place as well.
- For this example, I will use 3 dimensions: Creative Name, Position, and Duration
- Click Save.
Once you’ve created the touchpoint, now go find it in the list of touchpoints. Once you find the touchpoint,
- Click Manage->Edit
- Scroll down to enter variations for your different spots.
- Enter the information for the custom dimensions for each.
- Click Manage->Tracking Options for each spot to get its tracking information.
- Select the platform you use from service drop down. The macros for the players we’ve worked with so far will display.
- If you work with a platform that is not listed, reach out to LeadsRx and we will research what the macros should be for that player. If you have a contact at the company you work with, that would help with our research.
- Select the code for a 1x1 impression pixel or URL Only and put it with your ad where it’s served on the target platform.
- To track downloads of the podcast, select the Redirect Code and use that code where your podcast displays.
And that’s it! Congratulations. You can now track your podcast advertisements.
