In order to upload post spot log data to LeadsRx, the data needs to be formatted to match our Spot Times Template. The template includes several tabs with details about exactly what is required.

Here are a few tips on using the template.

  1. First, read the instructions completely. Notice that there are tabs with formatting examples. Your final file for uploading will be just one CSV file, from the second tab.
  2. Columns A through C  -- for date, time and duration are required. Make sure to match the date and time format exactly and also make the duration value just a number (in seconds) with no additional text like "sec".
  3. Columns D and E – for market, and time zone, are required if your spreadsheet includes more than one market or time zone. Follow the instructions on Tabs 3 and 4 for formatting both market name and time zone.
  4. Column F, the touchpoint column, is not technically required if your file only contains data for one campaign (touchpoint) in LeadsRx. You will be required to map your upload CSV to either one existing touchpoint in your account or to a column in your spreadsheet. For this reason, using a touchpoint column avoids confusion.
    • Note: If your campaigns/touchpoints already exist, you must match the names in LeadsRx EXACTLY.
    • If LeadsRx does not find a campaign/touchpoint by the name provided in your upload file, it will create a new campaign/touchpoint with that name.
  5. The additional columns are examples of other optional information you may wish to include if you’d like to segment your broadcast channels in different ways. You may specify up to 5 custom dimensions. Some examples of custom dimensions are listed below
    • Station
    • Creative
    • Market
    • Format (e.g. news, country western, R&B, etc)
    • Network (e.g. CNN, SiriusXM, National Public Radio, etc)
    • Program (e.g. CNN Newsroom Live, Howard Stern, Planet Money, etc.)
  6. Once you decide on these custom dimensions, you will need to make sure they are consistent in every upload going forward, both in dimension name and number.

  7. If you aren’t going to use a column, please delete it. When finished, save the data tab in CSV format.

    • Note: You may receive an error saying that the file cannot be saved in this format because it contains multiple tabs. You may continue to save since you only need the data tab to save as the CSV.
  8. Make sure your CSV file has no empty rows or unnecessary formatting.
