LeadsRx has a fairly robust algorithm for handling spot overlap. By default, we will spit credit equally across all spots for the time that they overlap. For example, assuming a 10 minute window, if spot A plays in a given market, spot B plays 5 minutes later and then spot C plays 9 minutes after spot A, the credit would be divided as follows:
- Minutes 0 to 4 after spot A - All visitors that meet the criteria for consideration will go to spot A.
- Minutes 5 to 9 - 50% of the credit would be given to spot A and 50% to spot B.
- Minute 9 - Spots A, B, and C will each be given 1/3 credit.
If you have impression data LeadsRx can ingest this to enhance the weighting. For example if network A has twice the reach of network B and their spots overlap network A would get twice the credit. Note that you will need impression data for all of the spots that LeadsRx ingests for this to work. If some of the networks provide impressions and some don't the weighting will be inaccurate so we recommend excluding all impression data in this scenario.
Notes:
- We do not recommend you use cost data for determining weighting of spots. There are too many factors that go into the cost of spots to be a reliable measure.
- Broadcast spots uploaded together to more than one touchpoint will consider overlap in the same way by our algorithm.
